Why is Easter So Early This Year?
Easter is one of the oldest Christian traditions, but unlike Christmas it doesn’t fall on the same date every year.
Of course Easter Sunday is always on a Sunday! But in the UK, because we follow the Gregorian calendar, Easter is celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon that occurs after the first day of spring. So this is why there can be a full months difference between an early and late Easter, bizarre we know.
Whilst Easter is the high point in the Christian calendar as the start of the dawn of a new life, we wondered why gifts of Easter Eggs and Easter bunnies were so popular. We weren’t surprised to learn that both symbolize ‘new life’ hence them becoming synonymous with this celebration.
Easter is of course time for school holidays too, so the perfect time to get away with the family and have some fun time together. At Bromley Court we can help, why not grab a room in our hotel, enjoy the hotel facilities and surroundings and we can book you in for our fantastic Easter Sunday Lunch.
Of course there is the mandatory Easter egg hunt for the children, but don’t worry we have enough so you won’t be left out!!
