Linen Room Porter

REPORTS TO: Head Housekeeper

A Linen Room Porter is required to work 5 days out of 7 to include weekends. Shifts are either 07:30-16:00 or 09:00-17:00.

£8.00 per hour plus holiday pay

  • To stock linen cupboard in the hotel and collection if dirty
  • To clean linen room and store area clean and tidy
  • To sort out and count all housekeeping laundry ,restaurant ,chef wears completing the necessary control books as specified
  • To send guest laundry out on the daily basics and on return, place garment in the guest room bedrooms ensuring that it has been charge
  • To do a monthly stock take for the department
  • To bring housekeeping delivery to the department
  • To deal with all customer and guest request and pass on any relevant document to the head housekeeper /floor supervisor
  • To collect used room service tray ,glasses, extra beds, cots and bedding from bedroom area
  • To clean room as when request
  • To accept all reasonable duties as requested by the head housekeeper or supervisor
  • To attend and actively contribute toward monthly departmental meeting
  • Understand the emergency procedure of the entire hotel SECURITY
  • Ensuring doors to any bedrooms and storage areas are never left unsecured
  • Being accountable for your keys at all times whilst signed out
  • Never allowing a guest access to individual rooms without first establishing their right to be in the room


  • To maintain personal hygiene standard at times
  • To wear the correct uniform, in good condition whilst on duty
  • Follow the agreed procedure of lost and found
  • Follow the absent procedure as per Bromley court hotel handbook

This is only rough guideline duties may be added at anytime due to any circumstances.
