Hotel or home this Christmas?

Christmas PuddingThat time of year is approaching fast isn’t it? I have to confess I try to get to the end of November before I even think about it but this year has not been so easy!

For me it is now a settled ritual that all the family and various friends come to our house for Christmas lunch. Last year it became a bit of a struggled as numbers increased but space didn’t! What should have been the usual routine for Christmas turned into something of a problem…all solved in the end, of course, but not something that I wanted to repeat this year. There is, after all, only a finite number of people that you can squeeze into our house without knocking down interior walls, and that is one road I do not want to go along.

So I have made the decision to book Christmas Lunch at the finest hotel in Bromley. It probably sounds a bit silly but the sense of relief is enormous. For the first time in years I don’t have to worry about food shopping for “the big day” buying crackers, table decorations, candles, sorting table linen, buying wine, nibbles, etc, etc, etc are all someone else’s problem.

I have complete confidence in the hotel that I have selected; they have an amazing reputation as finest wedding venue in Kent so if they have that kind of reputation then I know that our Christmas lunch will be perfect.

The only thing that I have to do is to circulate the mouth-watering menu around all friends and family so that they can make their choices and then all I have to do is write my Christmas cards and wait for Father Christmas. Job done!
